The Opening Ceremony will take place in the Pentland Auditorium at the EICC.

Welcome Reception/Poster Party Wednesday 26th September 2007 18.00 - 20.00

An informal Welcome Reception will be held on the Wednesday evening. This reception will take place
within the congress exhibition area at the EICC allowing delegates to relax and socialise, renewing old
friendships and making new ones. Wine and canapés will be served.

Gala Dinner and Ceilidh Thursday 27th September 2007 19.00 - 23.30

The Gala Dinner will be held in true Celtic style at the Royal Museum of Scotland. This spectacular venue is one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in the city and it will provide breathtakingly elegant surroundings for the evening. The drinks reception will be held in the First Floor Balcony allowing guests to get together with friends whilst enjoying the opportunity to view the historic exhibits. Guests will then be lead down the magnificent staircase to the dramatic Main Hall where they will be seated for dinner around the ornamental fishponds. Following dinner there will be opportunity for guests to participate in Scotland’s most traditional form of entertainment, the ceilidh. Ceilidh is a Gaelic word meaning ‘an informal gathering for conversation, music, dancing and songs’ in other words, a great party!
